A large squishy package may have arrived chez KT this week…

It’s totally not a joint order, by Anna and myself, for snowflake blanket yarn…

Happy Christmas!

Happy Christmas! I hope you had an awesome day 🙂

This is our teeny fairy light tree. We didn’t have room for a real tree this year so we this one instead. You can’t go wrong with fairy lights really, can you?!

It’s been a bit quiet on the blogging front lately, which is mainly down to the craziness that is work right now. But I’m trying very hard not to think about it and just enjoy my two weeks off work, yay. Lots of long lie ins are doing their job and I’m starting to feel human again, so it’s time to come back here and get up to date with what I’ve been up to craftywise.

Here’s the first of my recent crafty endeavours… a candy cane yarn wreath with felt flowers (totally inspired by this and this from Pinterest) for the front door. I am uber (with a capital U and BER) proud of how it turned out…

Although I could really do with centering this on the door viewer…!

Where’s my yarn?

Meh. I’ve shopped for years without problem and now some of my recent purchases are driving me insane! I ordered my Blue Block Blanket yarn over 2 weeks ago. After waiting for a week and a half with no despatch I cancelled my order and went to another shop promising 24-48 hour despatch. That should have guaranteed arrival by this weekend, but yet again, no despatch. I am jinxed. And unhappy!

To cheer myself up, I bought some red yarn to make some more Cool Wool blocks. I went into a local-ish yarn shop and was ignored then grumbled at for not having change. Meh. I guess my jinx extends beyond online shopping. At least the yarn is a pretty colour!

BBB Colours Chosen!

I’m VERY excited. Far more than I really should be given that the excitement is over ordering yarn for my Blue Block Blanket!!

Such pretty colours! From top to bottom there’s Denim, Sherbet, Bluebell, Aspen, Cloud Blue, Aster, Turquoise and Royal. Well those are the names, but I’m not sure whether or not they’re matched to the right samples as the colour chart and real life colours look a little different!

The yarn is Stylecraft Special DK as recommended by Attic 24. Anna’s using it for her granny strip blanket so last night at crafty club, I got a look at the colours she chose. I also had samples of the blues that she didn’t pick and after MUCH umming and ahhhing, I finally plumped for the colours above. And it’s only £1.25 per 100g from Country Crafts – a total bargain!
