D-3: Jason’s Jacks

More appliqué, complete with pointy points. Result! Can I swap the melons in all the other blocks for more of this shape please?!

  • Pieces: 2
  • Fabric: Stitch with beads in metallic bright pink from the City Girl Holiday range by Kitty Yoshida for Bernartex
  • Description: Hand appliqué using the “freezer paper underneath” technique
  • Notes: The points were much easier to do than for melons, so I maybe D-3 should have been my first appliqué block. Ah, isn’t hindsight wonderful! I had a tip from Cheryl to appliqué onto a bigger background square and then trim it to size. That way it doesn’t matter if things get a bit off centre, because everything can be re-centred when the square is trimmed. Well it worked out great. Thanks Cheryl!
